Redford was probably the closest thing I ever had to a Hollywood idol. Absolute legend. Time to rewatch Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Again.

Consider the sprawling and inescapable ubiquity of AI, its costs and environmental costs, its devastating impact on trust, truth and integrity... Then read this list of "upsides". What a trade, eh?

Scenes like this we sadly see often, but they're no less shocking every time. Aid trucks drive through dense crowds in southern Gaza. This drone clip was filmed around 1km north of the IDF's Morag Corridor (31.317803, 34.284942)

Huh, this is news to me. The irony that if you demonstrate you are human by blocking their actual robot trackers, websites like this refuse to interact with you.

The Israeli military issues an evacuation order for the entirety of Gaza city.
September 9, 2025 at 6:31 AM
The Israeli military published a map on Saturday showing what it calls a ‘humanitarian area’ in Al Mawasi near Khan Younis. This is the first time the IDF has designated a zone like this since attacks resumed in March following a two-month ceasefire. More: www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c1...

The IDF publish video of controlled demolition of around 20 multi-storey buildings in south Gaza city. They say they're destroying a tunnel. IDF vehicles were stationed at this position until very recently, which suggests they could be advancing again. Drone POV about here: 31.495254, 34.462073.

Satellite photos captured by Planet Labs yesterday show construction work has nearly finished on two new aid distribution sites in Rafah run by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The IDF says they replace SDS1 (the original Tel as Sultan site). More here: www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c5...

Anas Al-Sharif, Al Jazeera's correspondent in Gaza, has been killed, according to his colleagues. Anas was an invaluable and indefatigable source of information about developments in Gaza. Especially important given Israel's refusal to grant foreign journalists independent access.

The UN’s satellite centre (Unosat) has published its most recent assessment of damage in Gaza: around 78% of buildings there were damaged or destroyed by Israel by July this year. More than 40% completely destroyed. Here's an example of what that looks like in Abasan al-Kabira in the south.
