This is one of the earliest movies I remember seeing in the theaters, and my parents sold trading cards (with gum) at their video store. Well, they didn’t sell a ton of them which is why I had so many.

Happy to report Harry and the Hendersons is still a great movie and my collection of its baseball cards as a kid is justified. The Harry costume is seriously incredible and it’s just a beautiful movie. ET meets King Kong 10/10

The Return Captain Invincible (1983) starring Alan Arkin was a fun a uperhero satire. Opening like Watchmen and The Incredibles as our hero is made illegal after WW2, we return to modern day (1983) where our hero is now a drunk and must relearn how to be a hero to stop Mr Midnight(Christopher Lee)

Last night rewatched The Straight Story, David Lynch’s G rated Disney movie. The closest in vibe to Twin Peaks of any Lynch movie, it is a straight movie, not very dream like or twisted, but still undeniably Lynch. The views of the Midwest where I grew up and the earnest characters are beautiful.

When you know a lot about movies it’s easy to think everyone does. Just got asked if I’d ever heard of Monster Squad and if they should watch it. Uh yes I had the poster in my room as a kid and now I get to talk about how great it is. Love helping people find a great movie.
