Hi Emily, I'm one of the top open source contributors to Semgrep. The team has been VC funded since day 1. There's a lot of misinformation (e.g. there wasn't actually any change to semgrep's license) so I thought I would share this article: www.linkedin.com/pulse/semgre...
Semgrep Remains Open Source: LGPL 2.1
TL;DR: If you’re using Semgrep without bundling and reselling it, you should be unaffected by our recent changes. Semgrep's LGPL-2.

But that’s no way to live, it actually is a mental health challenge to feel perpetually uninteresting in group contexts by always focusing on how there have been people before me with the same thoughts and same feelings. A linkblog feels like a way to embrace that feeling.

I feel like I was almost doing exactly this back in the Google Reader, StumbleUpon, and Google+ days. I think teenage me felt like his thoughts and interests were novel, but as I aged at some point I started feeling like I’m not actually that interesting and all my thoughts are regurgitated.
