A mildly random project I released recently to help you find parks near you: https://urbangreenplace.com.

During COVID, I got to know my local parks a lot better. It was hard to work out what features they had though, e.g. do they have a playground, can you take the dog? This site helps with […]

I have the spoons to give you all one or two right now. Americans:

You need to make a risk decision right now about whether to leave the country (particularly if you or family are in a vulnerable group).

Some people do not have the luxury and I deeply respect those who stay to protect them […]

Hey folks in the US, as an outsider it feels a little weird to have an opinion about your election. However what happens over there tends to impact the rest of us too.

If you can vote, vote. You have a candidate and party that seems to be openly flirting with a descent into authoritarianism […]

Super interesting blog post on creating a WebGL shader to produce a painterly output. I’ve wanted to achieve this in the past, but was never successful.

Guys, it's that bad. I don't know how to get it across to anyone who doesn't get it that it is that bad. Even just voting isn't enough. I hope you're doing something else, too.

Very few people chose to risk their own families and fortunes for […]

The word "coach" originates from the Hungarian word "kocsi," which means "carriage of Kocs," named after a village in Hungary where these carriages were first made in the 15th century.

The term spread across Europe, becoming "kutsche" in German and "coche" in French.

By the 1830s, "coach" was […]

I’m seeing a few hype takes about strawberries at the moment. I don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble, but if OpenAI were that close to AGI I don’t think we’d see the high profile departures and sabbaticals. Folks are making investment decisions with their feet.

Hi. I was away for a week. Hope everyone is doing well.

There are people who believe the reasons for my absence are shameful and disqualifying for full participation on public life.

Those people can snort my taint.

If you need help, get help. Don’t wait to be in crisis. You can feel better.
