⭐ Patients are increasingly finding out they may have cancer by seeing their results or codes on the NHS app... ⭐
1) Results filled, but not 'hidden', then seen before bad news is broken.
2) Letters from hospitals to GP, coded & added to NHS app, before broken bad news.

V tough previous day in General Practice.
Come to work to find this on my desk from someone in my team 🙏

Do we notice and act when our colleagues are struggling?

⭐️NHS app & SystmOne integration alert⭐️
SystmOne results filing is designed to create actions for RECEPTION
Yet..
The NHS app takes the instructions aimed for reception, and labels it for patients as 'What you need to do'

Tech teams need to get their heads together!
GPs need to adapt in the meantime

⭐️Prediabetic Fell Runners?⭐️
I don't know many fell runners...
But two of them have been diagnosed with prediabetes in the last year.
Both in their 40s and the fittest people I know.
What's going on?

1. My work opportunity with a GP surgery (a previous #GoodThing) has been cancelled.
V gutted.
I've recovered & managed to make a new plan.
2. 8 hours gardening! A willow arch with this pattern ⬇️
3. Started a new book on 'Lean' organisations. From engineering. Sounds helpful!

⭐️Theory of Constraints in the NHS/ Service Industries?⭐️
💡Interesting text from engineering
💭 I'm curious to know if anyone has applied or adapted this theory for managing patient needs in hospitals or GP surgeries?

⭐️Is it mandatory to apply NICE guidelines?⭐️
See what NICE say at the beginning of each guideline ⬇️
They are a GUIDE
They offer evidence based information.
Patients are free to decide.
Clinicians can offer options & advice, and are not accountable for patients' decisions
Agree?

"Nah, I'll listen in whilst I garden"
Worked great
Really inspiring!
3. Wine & food with my amazing in-laws. V lucky.

👍 I feel optimistic that this will lead to some improvements around the interface and red tape in Primary Care.

( 🌳 Non-working day, so was listening in whilst gardening! Don't want to miss this kind of thing) 5/5

⭐So heartening to join the Primary Secondary Interface NHSE meeting today ⭐

Wonderful hearing from people who have solved the challenges I face every day in my GP practice.

➡️ Fit notes: A poster on the ward reminding patients to ask for a sick note. 1/5

What decisions?
What tools, processes, or exercises?
What would your goal be?

1. I love my church community. Lots of friends over years. So precious.
2. Pizza night! Every 3 weeks we make pizzas, with wine & music
One of my fav family traditions
3. A struggling friend let me make them a freezer meal. It actually feels a real compliment to be allowed to help them

⭐️We know 100% bed occupancy leads to failure⭐️
💥Just like teams!💥
When 100% of our time is DOING, teams fail for similar reasons.
SPACE to listen, problem solve, dream, cross barriers, socialise, empathise, learn & experiment makes our DOING more EFFECTIVE.
A GP example? ⬇️
