It's not (AFIAK anyway) but it's certainly where I'd put it now - I think ideally maybe, before the site was developed, compulsory purchasing a house or two to allow Pallet Drive to continue north (with a modal filter to stop cars) would have been a good option. Too late now of course.

Instead, it's a 16-30+ minute walk - or perhaps more realistically, people will just take the car and maybe not even bother with the established local services, driving elsewhere instead.

It's really odd. The design makes it feel totally isolated from the older part of town, its own thing, not integrated at all. As far as I've seen, no shops or services. But had they built in proper links, there's a Co-op, Premier, Boots, doctors surgery all within what would be a 10-15 minute walk.

Exactly my thinking, and I know others do too. The only positive I've seen from WCC's proposal is WMCA membership, given some positive transport moves and funding there. I'd say a north-south county split with the north or both joining the CA for regional collaboration would be ideal.
