Seamus when my wife was away a few weeks ago, he spent his entire waking time staring down the driveway looking for signs she was coming home.

Old photo of a sample in my collection from the Century Mine in Queensland, Australia. World-class lead-zinc deposit, finished up mining around 2015. Called Century because it was explored for more than 100 years before CRA Limited finally cracked it.

I was watching some of my old emo stuff from when I was in my 20s the other night, and Youtube hit me with this.

I just wanted to listen to some Placebo man!

Current status: it's bin night, people have put their bins out too early, and the bins are currently self-emptying.

Two frames that tell you everything you need to know about SLJ's character. Fantastic film-making.

When I started driving in the early-1990s, I would guess that upwards of 90% of all cars in my home city of Melbourne had one of these under the seat. Not the glovebox, because it wouldn't fit. A4 sized, 200+ pages with an index in the back. I would memorise the sequence of streets I needed to take.

They wanted to blast a harbour on the north coast of Western Australia in 1969 and if they had already discovered the massive WA iron ore deposits, they probably would have done it. Economic feasibility was the reason for not going ahead.

Sometime between 31/12/2023 and today, we lost the box that has the tinsel in it. Not braving any manner of shopping centre on a Saturday 11 days before crimbo so we've called it good.

I always wondered if this was a stromatolite. McArthur Basin, Northern Territory, Australia. We were on foot and already had a solid load of samples so I left it where it was.

I do like a nice vug. This is botryoidal pyrite in fractured mudstone, in core sample, from the upper Black Flag Group mudstones, in the Eastern Goldfields Province, Western Australia. Love the colours in the close-up here.
