But most importantly, people don’t think about how the reason BYU is getting all these chants recently is…we are very good in football and people hate that we are beating them and then being super nice about it. That engages them. We also travel so well, that shows up their attendance and fans.

I also wonder how many BYU die yards have said “Let’s Go Brandon” the last 5 years, or who still support Candace Owens as she accuses the church of killing Charlie Kirk. Such a lack of self-awareness.

Like, we donate to every opposing team we travel to this year. We try so hard to get them to like us. And whether it’s liberal schools hating us for Prop 8 and traditional politics, or conservative schools that don’t think we are Christian, they still hate us.

If that wide of a geographic and diverse background of fan bases do this, maybe ask yourself why people hate us so much?

Complaining about “Fuck the Mormons” chants or kickers kicking during our prayers in a stadium is selective outrage and performative righteousness.

Our doctrine literally says we will be persecuted for what we believe in and should be happy when it happens.

And I know that with the shooting at the Mormon church, and the history of our people killed (sometimes when the US law allowed for it), anti-Mormon sentiment can freak Mormons out.
