This is the hardest part of gamedev. Do you sacrifice the game's vision because of contention to make the masses happier? Always feel giving the player the "lever" to control is always good though.

(2/2) I see it CONSTANTLY. It might sound obvious from the horror stories you hear online of bad deals that got signed, but it goes to the ROOTS of the industry. There are many failed talents who either abuse genuine talented devs. Talk to your fellow devs often to make sure you're safe.
