Another day, another thread. Reading "Disappointment With God" by Philip Yancey got me thinking about how we survive this world as Christ-followers. The TL;DR - spiritual maturity is the key to making it out of terrible situations with our faith intact. ⬇️

We need about $500 to cover meal costs (since this is a community event, and we make all the food ourselves). If you could spare anything, we’d really appreciate it (and donations are tax deductible since we are a 501(c)(3)). You can donate here: welcomeinthisplace.org/online-giving

Hey, fam. So update on this: long story short, we need yall’s help to make it happen. Things haven’t been too great financially for Sanctuary this year. All the leaders got laid off from their secular jobs, and two of us are still unemployed (myself included). That’s where you come in: ⬇️

I'm back with a thread (and future blog post) prompted by @nikfits.bsky.social - "something something we can be doing everything we know to be right but there's something missing that's keeping it from being 100% effective ... and could be causing harm as well as good"
First, some context ⬇️

joy is, in many cases, not actually easy. joy is a discipline. we should grieve, and we should get angry, but we should also cling to the Good. every day has at least one spot of joy that you can claw out of it and smuggle away in your pocket. this is what it means to not let sorrow take you.

Having some thoughts about the state of our society after catching up on some headlines. Thread incoming. But the TL;DR - the government cannot save us, and we need to look elsewhere for survival and security.
Let's get into it ⬇️

the main difference between dogs and cats is that if you try to put a little jacket on a dog it will try to eat the little jacket and if you try to put a little jacket on a cat it will try to kill you
