$6k+ deductible is crazy high! Our highest deductible plan is $3500/individual. That's an HSA plan, w/annual company contribution. That one is $49/pp for 1 person. Mine would be $115/individual/pp

The 3rd plan they offer is a $0 deductible plan. Copays/Coinsurance will cost more.

We transitioned to BCBS-AL last year from UHC. I'm just about to do our open enrollment, and this had me looking at my current rates so I could compare. Currently ~$350 per pay period for family of 4, including dental & vision. $1250/person or $2.5k/family deductible.

There are many out there with more experience to give you guidance, but yes, I would invest a good chunk of it. And if your work offers 401k/IRA matching, contribute AT LEAST the amount to max the matching. That’s free money.
