just to say: YOUR ALREADY UNDSTAND IT... i have seen it (the concept of perspective drawing(plainer perspective)) in your art but, you also play safe with it. so you get a bit lose and then you fall in to a rut... all artist do this!

there just guides they can help with laying out the scale but the vanishing point can be changed. The drawing on top will never fully yield to them as to do all in perspective properly would be maddening. its more of a reference for foreshortening. and keeping things transitioning smoothly

fundamentals and basics review can strengthen your art work, your art is good and nicely styled. however if you looking to improve you need to determine what you need to improve on... as your a macro artist I would say perspective is a big one, however anatomy is also required for figures!

use guides and boxes for 3 point perspective for them good loom additionally the horizon line can be lower when looking up or higher when looking down it can also be off the page!
