I’m big into genre fiction. Last year I plowed through all the Jack Reacher novels, which are a little silly but a lot of fun, and then the Aubrey/Maturin master & commander novels, which are excellent but definitely imperialist.

Also, my favorite fact about borscht is that the Japanese have a concept of “The Three Grand Soups of the World,” which actually includes four soups, and borscht is one of them

I started at this for five minutes trying to figure out what some of those states in the middle could possibly be. If I had looked at New England first, instead of feeling assured that I knew it backwards and forward, I’d have gotten there sooner.

This whole story is bonkers. The school district has had cops arrest 3102 students in the last two and a half years, averaging 135 arrests per month!? And most of those arrests are for felonies!?!?!?!
