Just want to add that I bought this, the first bit of poetry I've bought in a huge amount of time. I can't recommend it strongly enough.

I think 'What rage or madness drives you?', is my favourite at the moment. But it is a wonderful collection to dip into and reflect on.

The same way the American 'herb' came to be I think, the accent was there at some point. Otherwise I guess it just sticks for some people I suppose, maybe it's the mouthfeel

It's still quite common in British English to use an. It sounds more natural in a lot of those dialects/accents

Havin' a poo son

I've had an internal sports commentary lately: 'Oh that's a rookie mistake there, he missed that bit of rice and now he has to go back and wash it again, that'll cost him dearly'.
But it's positive too 'Look at the speed, he's really in the swing of things now'.
