'Drive your Plough Over the Bones of the Dead'

Racist old dog-nutter has the temerity to complain about other peoples hypocrisy.

Hellblazer: Garth Ennis Omnibus.

Glorious stuff a full on 5/5 dragged down by the last arc and old even for its time albeist slurs as the run progressed.

'Beautyland' A breezy read that I'd give a 3/5, but gets a -2 as the author and main character has managed to confuse 'humans' with (U.S)'Americans'. The main character manages to comment on so much, except cultural imperialism.
1/5 septic tanks.

The only pre-order I've gotten round to reading this year. Really looked forward to it and it was...good?, but not mindblowing, possibly because there are some elements I could never truely understand. Still, enjoyed, would reccomend, will buy future releases.
4/5 worms.

Hellblazer By Jamie Delano Omnibus One.

Vaugely annoyed that about a third of this collection isn't by Delano, - about 12 issues of Swamp Thing.

Really kicks into gear with The Fear Machine arc which despite being written in 1989 still feels really relevant.

5/5 silk cuts.

Similar to the first Enemy Within companion absolutely jammed with usefull NPC's, hooks, additions and deeper explorations of themes from the main book. 5/5 virulant riverborne diseases. #wfrp #ttrpg

Clanbook: Setites. Standard fair for a 1e Clanbook - through a modern lense it feels sparse and there are obviously better ways of doing things.

Enough stuff in there to inspire an idea for a campaign setting though. Two pages of errata for a different book is a bit wtf 3.5/5 snakes #ttrpg

The first 'modern' scifi I read, getting on for three decades ago. Still, the most enjoyable of the Sprawl Trilogy. 4/5 Orbitals.

Deft Steps and Light Fingers for #WFRP - last chapter feels a bit of a mess but solid, usefull stuff and as ever pleanty of hooks. Given my group appears set to be ne'er do wells will probably be real usefull. 3.75/5 #ttrpg

Another silly fun #40k book. Only dropping marks by being a bit too similar plot wise to its preceding book. Will definitely read again though. 4/5 Snazzhammers.

This, Doom Patrol and The Invisibles are a solid argument of Grant Morrison being the best #comics writer ever. 5/5 📚💙

I know it's a repackage, but Reikland Miscellanea is fantastic. More hooks and plots than you could imagine, fifteen locations you could drop into most games of #WFRP and one of the adventures is pure old school warhammer dark comedy. 5/5. #ttrpg

A big ol' #DNF for 'Folk' by Zoe Gilbert. Well written but so sluggish. A third of the way in and there's no momentum. Sorry but I have other books to read.💙📚

Small Gods (re read): Technically one of Pratchett's best if not his best. But as ever it just doesn't land as enjoyable as some of his other works. 4/5 brass turtles. 📚💙

A Voyage for Madmen - technically good because it didn't just cover what I was interested in (Crowhurst) it gave even coverage to many elements of the race, but I really would have prefered deeper dives into how it affected Crowhurst, Moitessier and Tetley.
3/5 faked log books.

Thoroughly enjoyable fantasy bumpf. Arnold has moved well out of that 'wanting to be Pratchett and Butcher' vibe the first book or two had. 4/5 cops eventually dun good. 📚💙🪐

The River has Roots is a well crafted, beautifully written story. Only 30 pages of the 130 page book is a preview for another book so it won't be getting full marks. Instead it gets 3.5/5 CONjugations.
(Yes I do think I'm very clever, why do you ask?)

Old school #WoD supplement - Clanbook: Lasombra. It'd be a lie to say nostalgia wasn't a big thing for this. It's a classic Clanbook - expanded player primer with Bradstreet cover and Timbrook portraits. White on black text fucked my eyes but overall I give it 4/5 empty mirrors. #ttrpg

Another old school #WoD #ttrpg read: Project Twilight.

Delta Beige. The big redeaming feature is that one of the agencies examined is ineffective because it's full of white men, thinking white men things (making this doubly Delta Beige)
