Fagash Farage is loved by the 24/7 media machine because they can fill their inane scheduling with shit chat and politics that largely resonates with them anyway. Far from a left leaning media we have the opposite in the UK, owned by those whose interests are served well by them.

He’s been wall to wall on news agendas since the Labour Government took power and he entered Westminster. Where is he today of all days? He should be front and centre, as leader of the party who claim patriotism for every action and policy, answering questions on what he knew, when he knew it.

After sun still occupies some space in my emotional attic years after I watched it. Such a wonderful film about how we try to understand the world looking backwards while living looking forwards but with some things to work out

Entirely of a piece with a state that believes that no international laws apply to it and that it can do as it wills against any enemy, real, perceived or simply because they can. Israel of course is only able to do this because of US money, weaponry and intelligence. Fuck them both. Free Palestine

Must be one of the famous Hartlepool parakeets. A rare flash of colour in an autumnal park. What a joy.

Yeah, yeah, your debating society chat works well in 140 character format. Cooing fine thanks and probably better for not engaging with you since you are safely beyond ever being a union supporting, UK Labourite who is happy for Scotland to know its place. Keep singing the Internationale…. Bye, bye

Insufferable smart arse and someone with no ability to take any ribbing. To be honest I’ve had enough of your sometimes logic/sometimes feelings/sometimes defending Labour UK/sometimes not, and your generally holier than thou discourse. Cheerio Duncan. Enjoy Holyrood 26 when Scottish Labour implodes
November 13, 2025 at 4:02 PM
Could say the same about your Scottish Leaders criticisms of ScotGov. You’ve some nerve defending him on the two child cap, WASPI etc. or any of the actions taken by them to mitigate the impact of UKGov policies. And you’re right, I’m not remotely sorry because you’re an insufferable smart arse.

Sorry Duncan but that’s you giving off massive “but we did good things and everyone hates us” energy

This is already happening in the US with the funding that used to go to universities being taken from them by the Trump administration and given to tech companies due to their investment in AI failing to come to anything because it is an Emperor’s New Clothes Project.

Fully concur for many reasons not least of which is the changing demographic in the loyalist community and lowering birth rate. There may not be many left in the coming decades and notwithstanding some nefarious activities it is to be hoped that Ireland would be reunited after over a hundred years.
November 12, 2025 at 11:12 PM
True. I’m sure you would also have a limited interest in integrating the six counties and their deep rooted sectarian behaviours having left them behind since the new border was agreed in 1925.

It’s hardly surprising given he only entered the parliamentary world in 2015. Ten years later he’s PM! His experience of politics is as limited as his courage. Perhaps wielding the law gives you something to hide behind? I cite his ruling on the Ian Tomlinson case whilst head of CPS.

The Good Friday Agreement is certainly a good thing, perhaps the only good thing in the history of British involvement in Ireland. Ignoring the colonial past and plantation of crown loyalists the partition of Ireland can only be regarded as an appalling trial of a tactic used subsequently in India.

Shame the image echoes the statue of Churchill. A more war-mongering racist than anyone could ask for. I respect all who served in WWII and who fought nazism including my own grandparents since then it’s only been protecting interests and political aims. Who’d be flying from Akrotiri over Gaza now?
November 12, 2025 at 11:43 AM
The Six Counties are part of the Island of Ireland and I personally see them as not separate from The Republic of Ireland but I left the statement open to interpretation in order to highlight the fact that everywhere beyond London, The Centre, is viewed as colony, territory or regional periphery.
November 11, 2025 at 11:50 PM
All true. It’s only now that we see any analysis or exposition of Empire at its most basic, rapacious, corporation based, royalty appointed and vicious. All those centuries that England as Britain colonised, enslaved and literally raped other countries hidden from view by the good old BBC.
November 11, 2025 at 5:45 PM
Perhaps not but it seems to have worked as a strategy for the two main parties in Westminster for decade after decade of the Chuckle Brothers “to me, to you” debacle that passes for parliamentary sovereignty in the so-called Mother of Parliaments. Magnus maybe you should rethink the union and WM?

I agree. Broadcasting Scotland are to be supported in their efforts to play a part in the Scottish Media landscape. I still think the original BBC remit of Educate, Inform, Entertain is worthy but it could be refreshed for the 21st Century and also purged of the public school mentality.
November 11, 2025 at 1:15 PM
Not forgetting the BBC’s almost allergic reaction to Scottish Independence and the outsider status of Scotland, Wales, Ireland, English Regions of the North. BBC generally good, BBC News/BBC News Scotland are propaganda for the dominant discourse and long term institutional elites.
November 11, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Johnson had less of a majority than Starmer yet had enough belief in his project against the BBC to assume he would face no pushback. Starmer needs to show he has several qualities and fast; a spine and some gumption to defend an institution set up for the people, the political nous to do it well.
