In the cybersecurity world, a tell tale sign of a phishing scam is to create an “urgency” where you have to act now or something horrible will happen. That’s what this “offer” is.

I think it’s a shock reaction. Don’t tell me not to panic (or keep calm). Panic doesn’t have to mean running around in circles doing nothing. It can mean being realistic about a situation, seeing the repercussions and taking action ASAP.

They’re communicating but it’s a challenge when they don’t have any real info to share because there isn’t any. Research will suffer. Students will lose experience, internships & income.
