For those of you old enough to remember this, I woke up thinking about this song today. I was too young to really know what was going on in the world at that time in 1971 but this stirs up nostalgia that makes me cautiously optimistic about our future…if we can get our heads on straight.

Only one person could possibly begin to breach the tremendously deep divide in America right now. Unfortunately that’s Donald Trump. He could have very easily tried to deliver a more healing speech after Kirk’s death, but it’s easier for him to stoke hate and accelerate his war on those not like him
