Most of the times it's just to make small talk, but I don't like the assumption that I *have* to do something aside from sit at home if I have any time for myself at all. I don't know very many people to spend that time with, and I don't usually have the money or energy to do anything big.

Is LinkedIn still a safe bet for looking for jobs? Or are there better options depending on the skill set?
Because I'm thinking of a making a new resume, since I haven't switched jobs in about 5 years.
