The Admiral General would love Trump's tasteful decor!

Standard dictator interior design, setting new standards in appalling bad taste.

Turnbull was a moderate and rational leader of Australia's main conservative (Liberal) party at a time when it started lurching further right. I have no doubt that he is very accurately describing his views on Trump when he was Prime Minister.

It's truly sad to see the USA led by such a flawed leader who is convincingly way out of his depth, and advised by key personnel who principal quality is loyalty to the MAGA cause.
Trump should not be seen in the company of a murderous dictator like Putin, who has no respect for human life.

There is also huge investment in all regional passenger lines, something largely funded by the former Morrison government.

Victoria's railway network was largely built in the 19th century with funds lent by British banks, a debt not fully repaid until the 1940s. I don't think it's reasonable to expect that with huge demand for new transport infrastructure, today's Victorians can prepay assets with a 100 year life.

Kennett also ripped up the recently constructed Webb Dock railway to build the AFL Docklands stadium. Now we have a major part of the Port of Melbourne without freight rail access, and 100% dependant on heavy trucks. The cost of reinstating the line on a partial new route will be massive.

Trump is a complete international embarrassment and possesses none of the qualities needed to be a President of the USA. Ukraine needs to be hugely aware that it needs to look to European and other worldwide partners for support to conclude this terrible war.

Agreed - Dreyfus is a King's Counsel and comes across as extremely thoughtful and measured. It's a great shame that he and Ed Husic will be replaced by factional hacks. Richard Marles does not impress.

Talk about lambs to the slaughter - that pair would be totally clueless. It's a pity that one of the two major parties can only muster 2nd and 3rd grade players to try and take on Albo.

How's Trump going to spin this one? The Canadians have made a very definite statement to say 'Get stuffed' (as we say in Australia).
April 29, 2025 at 8:44 AM
There is a big difference between the Liberals of the 60s and the present day Trump lites.
April 29, 2025 at 8:40 AM
Dutton is a just a smoother but nastier version of Scomo.
April 29, 2025 at 8:37 AM
A complicated geo political matter like the Ukraine invasion require the attention of key partners who can actually understand the reality of the situation and make sound foreign policy/defence decisions. Quite frankly, Trumps administration does not have the smarts to make a meaningful difference.

Fake news only because you unquestionally believe a very flawed individual. It's strange how the rest of the civilized world just holds their nose and looks the other way?

The pollsters just tell what they hear - they are professional outfits whose industry reputations are based on accurate reporting.

The ethically-cleansed Crimean Tatars would no doubt have a very different view of the apparent USA move to recognise Crimea as a Russian asset.

There is alternate path away from the Telstra nightmare - just switch your mobile service to a Telstra 3rd party wholesaler like Aldi, Woolworths or C-Mobile. You get nearly all the Telstra coverage, it's cheaper and the nightmarish customer service is a thing of the past.

His Caps Lock seems to be intermittingly flicking on and off a bit more these days?
March 24, 2025 at 7:50 AM
At last year's debate, Kamala Harris told Trump that Putin 'will eat you for lunch' - that prediction is now playing out. Trump's complete lack of policy and diplomatic skills is now on display for all to see. In Australia, we call a situation like that 'a dog's breakfast'.

I just hope that Covid 2.0 doesn't hit the USA in the next three years as an RFK-directed response will just cause massive human casualties/misery and further smash the economy.
March 19, 2025 at 9:35 PM
It's disappointing that the USA has succumbed to erratic government by decree. They made the choice, and have to live with it.
March 13, 2025 at 8:53 AM
This has to be a line in the sand for Russia - they have to be told if their subjects are content to live under a military dictatorship, that's their choice. The Ukrainians have a different pathway.
March 13, 2025 at 8:51 AM
The first rule of modern life is 'Do not deal with Telstra'!
There are much better options elsewhere.
March 13, 2025 at 8:10 AM
Much easier to deal with a Telstra reseller like Aldi or C Mobile - you get virtually all the Telstra network, cheaper and never have to deal with the bots Telstra passes off as customer service. Life is too short to have to deal with the big T.
