When the Indian nationalist Narayan Krishna attended the International Socialist Congress in Copenhagen, 1910, one newspaper noted: "Krishna has eyes like a tiger; in the dark brown beard, his eyes seem like automobile headlights on a dark road; I understand why the British government fears him."
