As a mental health pharmacist, I'm increasing concerned about people using street "medications".

Multiple alerts have been issued over the last few years by NSW Health regarding counterfeit "medication" and risky vaping liquids.

Despite public awareness people are willing to take risks.

I'm looking with interest at the Queensland, Australia's pharmacist prescribing OCP trial.

This is an extension on the continuing supply from pharmacists in Qld and NSW for low dose OCP, but with more independence.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia has released an opioid toolkit.

The Australian government is supporting the roll out of naloxone nasal spray/injection directly from community pharmacies free of charge.

All of us can play a role in reducing deaths from opioid overdoses.

A recent Lancet review noted that, in middle age, hearing is a leading modifiable factor for dementia.

Would seem that hearing testing is important throughout our lives.
