Long term WWF, WWT, RSPB and RSPCA supporter. Stop littering, walk if you can, do your bit locally and it all makes a difference. Look for things in common, not things that separate us.
Was cheaper energy not the answer? Seemed to be the answer for nearly all questions/issues??

Fair enough with the extremes, but if there isn’t a large consensus of centrists and moderate left/right types the only alternative is all out war. No one is ever entirely happy with consensus politics, but it isn’t all out war so if preferable. Talking and persuading is better than Armageddon

Very fair. Yes I agree

Why do we all think that us and our children are beyond doing manual, labouring roles. There is a popular right wing meme out there comparing this sort of logic to the left wanting slavery back and it’s hard to move away from when there is a chorus applauding undocumented workers in poor conditions

I think the picture better denotes regular left and far right. It is disingenuous to say other. That’s the whole reason for ‘far’ being included. You may well be correct with centrists and confusion, but the far left certainly don’t just want to be nice.

This is a tawny I got a pic of. Had heard it for number of nights and finally tracked it down. Beautiful things

Eagle owl?

Rory seems like a lovely fella who is often way off with his predictions and sense of things, despite a vast and varied past. Alastair (to put it politely) is very confident in himself and his authority, but is generally more on the money. A layman’s honest review of the few episodes heard.

Epstein next. Surely these files plus Epsteins list will have cross party approval and cynicism aside, is not a left or right wing thing- rather something we all want?

Tasteless dad jokes. He obviously doesn’t know/care how he is perceived by a large contingent of the population who I believe he will have a lot in common with. I say this as someone who is against the us vs them separate echo chambers and always look to bridge gaps and find common ground.

Hers is an easier message to get behind and imbibe, but doesn’t really have any substance to it. It’s child like really. How will she fight them? What will she do? Which Nazi policies will she defend against and how can people help? Specifics are more useful than emotive sloganeering.

We may find a way to harness all of the hot air coming out of the Oval Office yet as a new, alternative green energy.

Great news! Geothermal rarely gets a mention due to scalability, but it ticks the boxes for reliability and affordability. Nuclear has to be the long term goal for any sustainable, green energy at scale however.

The thing I find the most frustrating is that individuals shun doing their bit locally. The amount of litter and pollution I see individuals take part in, whilst all consuming frustrates me more than any policy level directive. I really think we all aim and talk too high on environmental issues.
January 24, 2025 at 11:34 AM
Does that include economic growth driven in new fields (online/tech based) rather than traditional growth of ‘things’? Serious question as people seem hard wired for ‘growth’ and if there was another direction less harmful it could thread that needle?

Surely a show like this is at its most valuable on the aforementioned platforms. Their general audiences are the most in need of this content.

Do you not think there would be value in us all seeing how hard the work is for a short period and feeling grateful that we would only be there for a short while? Irrespective of religious or political background? Would it not help heal some of the wounds as well having to cooperate with ‘others’
January 23, 2025 at 8:39 PM
Controversial one, but would it not serve as a laudable ‘right of passage’ and a time to reflect back on with gratitude if youngsters all had to do a mandatory season on the farms? It would certainly make it clear how hard our immigrant cousins work on our behalf.

Maybe Trump university will have a semester on the value of ‘Tokens’.
