The oldest known published version of #UltimateTicTacToe? That might be "Tic-Tac-Ku" by Mad Cave Bird Games, released in 2008. It uses the "win any 5 small boards" win condition.

There are actually two different variants of Ultimate Tic Tac Toe floating around. They differ by win condition:
1: Win 5 of the 9 small Tic Tac Toe fields. This seems to be the older variant.
2: Win three fields in a row. This is how it works on bejofo.com

Ultimate Tic Tac Toe rules can be tricky at first glance! Where you can play next depends on your opponent's last move. If that spot's already taken, you can play anywhere. It’s usually easier to show than tell – check out the video!
