Was strolling around with my Buddy Bot on the side of a mountain and I was absolutely not prepared to see her full sprint across the uneven terrain with a load full of cargo and flawless balance. I've been playing for 40 hours and haven't moved half that fast with half that cargo without tripping.

Many of these multiversal interactions seem to be spontaneous and unspectacular, often making it go over people's heads. Why, it's even possible that Sam has gotten help from other Sam's and hasn't even realized it. That's kind of the whole point of the chiral network, isn't it?

The Cyberpunk references lean greatly into this idea, as the e-mails from J (Johnny Silverhand) outright say that Sam's world IS NOT HIS. He acknowledges how the technology in Sam's world is futuristic, but not the SAME future. Cyberpunk's is more advanced, but they can't take advantage of chiralium

Well, in Death Stranding, there is scientific evidence of a multiverse. The Beach is proof of it. Everyone has their own Beach, but lapses in space-time can send you to other Beaches. In this way, franchises can connect to Death Stranding either as fiction or reality, or even both.

But when you get the Gravity Gloves (a direct reference to Half-Life: Alyx), they claim to have found the blueprints in an underground laboratory with a λ logo. Clearly they found it at an actual Black Mesa facility. But if Half-Life is fiction, then how?

Let's take the various Valve Easter Eggs as an example. We know from the e-mails that the games existed in this world. There's various characters like Benjamin Hancock and William Lake that acknowledge Half-Life as a fictional series, even saying that Sam is rumored to be a huge Half-Life fan.

The crossover material in Death Stranding is really interesting lore-wise. When it comes to any Hideo Kojima game, the golden rule of thumb is "don't take any of the easter eggs at face value; it's just a little cheeky fun," which is still true in this case, but it's a bit more involved than that.

It also looks like it's absolutely not officially licensed JoJo's merch. So yeah, kinda plagiarism.

Guy came into work today wearing this shirt so I asked them if they were a JoJo's fan. Naw, they just found it on Guiding Cross. From what I can gather, it's a Christian merch site for people that like Gothic, metal, macho, or generally "badass" theming.

Also, I'm glad I got my pre-registration bonuses after all this time. It wasn't really clear how you were supposed to do that if you were gonna play on Steam. People were like, "Add it to your wishlist ig??" But there was no indication it worked.

(Credit: Bran Sculpts) as long as colors are shaded the right way, the 3D model doesn't appear to be 3D when still.

Another possibility is simply that everything IS 3D. Blending and rendering technology makes it possible to have 3D models appear as 2D drawings. This picture, for example, is completely 3D.

I'd be very interested in watching behind the scenes to see how they did it. One possibility is depth-based 3D conversion. It's a way of artificially giving 2D film stereoscopy.
October 30, 2025 at 3:59 PM
You see, I thought it would be very easy to tell what's CG and what's not. I was expecting a pop-up story effect, where 3D models have clear depth in shape, and 2D objects look flat. But I couldn't have been more wrong. If anything, I'm far less sure of what's CG in the film.

Last night I saw the Chainsaw Man Movie - Reze Arc. It was a great movie, but I wanted to talk about how I saw it in 3D. It was the first time I've seen an anime movie in 3D, so I found it very interesting.

I didn't think I'd live to see people unironically refuse to breath the same air as gay people.

So I found out when I use this skin in Savannah Citadel Act 5 it COMPLETELY breaks the stage script. You can complete the level but not before skipping nearly half of it.
