I think capitalism corrupted the internet. Previously, it wasn't pay to play to have your information found. With monopolistic content providers (streaming, social media, search engines) gatekeeping access to content - it's made the internet feel like a much different place than it was originally.

This has been a dark aspect of the internet for some time. I used to do Amazon Mechanic Turk work - digital based tasks that you'd get paid per task to do.

A huge amount of the tasks involved doing things that would manipulate search results. Many were high level execs trying to hide bad PR stuff.

As a type 1 diabetic, I find money to be a really rough morality test. I might not be alive if the person who invented insulin was greedier. Many diabetics aren't now because pharmaceutical companies have turned to greed. It makes using it to do good like Sir Frederick Banting seem proper to me.

A great question that I struggle to answer. How do you fairly / efficiently use such funds in a equitable manner? There's so many options, including the temptation of "more could do more - reinvest?", which gives me pause. Is there really that many problems that money can fix, or is it the root?
