A little WIP preview. I'm working on a creature design I've been tinkering with since April 1st - it's meant to be a harpy-basilisk... a harpilisk, if you will. It's fun to do and I feel like I'm nearing the end of figuring out it's design! Just need to add clothing accessories.
A white harpy-like creature with a green scaled reptile tail. It has a very long neck and legs, and it's wings have black primary and secondary feathers, and have fingers with talons.

Here it is! Looking at it compared to the finished piece is crazy to me 😂 I couldn’t find any WIP shots of when half of the lines were done in 2020 otherwise I’d show that too.

I’m honestly glad I stopped working on this when I did because 2020-me wouldn’t have been able to do what 2025-me did.

Emerging behind them and coiling around them are milky white tentacles with hundreds of eyes in various sizes, all looking towards the viewer. All eyes in the art range in colors from purple to blue and pink, and have white pupils. The art has an overall cool toned purple and warmer toned pink overlay, with bright light coming from the left and illuminating Aeon, and dark shadows behind them, hiding some of the tentacles, the pupils of the eyes glowing in the dark. Squiggly, psychedelic faint lines cover the entire image and there’s a chromatic aberration effect.

My half of an art trade with my friend @feverbeast.bsky.social! I drew their character Wolf from their novel in the works, “Needles Above Prey”. I’m a big fan of this guy 💕
