The characters in Star Trek were always respectful to each other. The black woman, Uhura, was treated as a professional because she was great at her job. Identity did not matter. Everyone could actually do their job.

The fact that you think only white people are Christian or conservative means you have no idea what you are talking about.
and to the extent that white conservative christians (i think it is important to specify who we are talking about) face opprobrium, it is extraordinarily mild. to describe this in any way as persecution is to abuse the language

By the way: I wasn’t talking about it being hard to extend grace to, say, incel Trump voters. I mean to us — each other — the people who oppose fascism and hold to some fundamental values. There’s a lot of bitterness and anger slipping out against each other, I think. It’s very human.
