(Yet NOAA has long been **underfunded** as Scott Rayder noted last year: www.federaltimes.com/opinions/202...)
NOAA’s budget is too small. That’s costing the US billions of dollars
Opinion: With a fiscal year 2024 budget of $6.3 billion, the nation’s leading weather and climate agency remains significantly underfunded.

On a positive note, they are not "built different" and "rolling deep" like the ones in Paraguay, so I may have a chance to survive 😂

The pre-take off wine was necessary 🥵🍷

That's probably the most I've run this calendar year. Threw in a couple nice jukes so as to not truck any little cards dragging roller bags 😆😅

Begged a supervisor to check my big bag and turns out yesterday was her birthday as well. Had to run the entirety of crowded ass Terminal D and just made it in time. I couldn't have handled 2 missed flights in one day 🥵

Ahh, so happy to be getting back to Mexico. All in, I'm out $250 in new spending and had to eat that original $200 ticket. Not too shabby for what would have been $1,000+ out-of-pocket if I didn't have credit card points!

Not a bad recovery for my first ever missed flight! #travel

Update 3: Flight to Merida was non-refundable, so that sucks, but got a new one sorted out for early tomorrow morning and a hotel tonight (yay, Marriott points!). Managed to call the hotel via Skype and book a free shuttle (saves me a $15 taxi) despite my poor Spanish and the rep's limited English.

Update 2: Just booked the last business class seat on American Airlines flight tonight to Mexico City. Only 25K AA miles for an $800 ticket (plus $42.05 for the taxes/fees) so that's a huge win. Now to figure out a hotel tonight and how to get to Mérida tomorrow 🤘😁🤘.

Update 1: rebooked on the next American flight*...in 6.5 hours, so I get to sit outside and sweat while I wait 🤦‍♂️. Getting to Mérida, on the other hand, is going to be a bit more of a hassle.

*no change fee thanks to the lady at check in, which was closed.
