Cistaceae strong in Indiana. I luv the Lechea species but was equally excited when we found Crocanthemum bicknellii.
Here in a remnant sand savanna we had Lechea pulchella, L. minor, & Crocanthemum bicknellii growing together.

This Ontholestes cingulatus (gold-n-brown rove beetle) isn't just a cool beetle cuz it roves around in dung. It is cool because of its sinister mandible stache.

Oh, Onthno = poop and lestes = predator. A great nickname for your toddler!
