my robot girlfriend #8 - it started with a crush. a four panel comic featuring fink and remi. in the first panel, the pair are snuggling with fink over the top of remi. in the second panel, remi is rubbing at a spot behind fink's ear, saying "mmmm, what's this little thing here? a love button?" fink responds with "no, don't" but is cut off. in the next panel, a loud sound effect stating Sleep Mode Activated appears, with Fink's eyes going black. in the next and last panel, fink falls and crushes poor remi.

wanted to talk about this somewhere bc i am starting to recover from another round of this, so i posted it to my practically empty tumblr

CW/TW: suicidal ideation, suicide
A text tumblr post from my tumblr, beepboopbork. alt text is direct from the post. one of the worst things about living with suicidal ideation is that when it comes up, there are very limited places to talk about it. you know full well that it's scary to hear from someone you care about, but in the moment, it also feels like one of the only options left. at least, it did for me. when the thoughts started becoming regular in my late teens, i learned quickly that if i brought it up, i'd generally get one of two responses - "you're doing this for attention" or "you need to get professional mental help." the first response slowly chipped away at me and made me feel deeply guilty and angry at myself. i felt selfish and horrible just for thinking about it. those feelings fed into the suicidal thoughts, and made it all feel more intense. the second response taught me that the only viable help was with strangers, and required resources and connections that i rarely had access to. it made me feel like a burden, and reinforced a lot of deeply painful views i had on myself and my inherent lack of value in the world. for most of my life, when the feelings arose i would instinctively pull back from people. i would give scripted responses when approached. i resisted the urge to ask for help. i hid. it quickly became an internal struggle, because to take it outside of myself would only make it worse. eventually, the solution to the problem became the problem itself. i have survived three attempts. i know i am lucky to still be here. it's taken a lot of time, but i have found the support of a handful of caring people who i've learned i can talk to about it. i have a therapist i can trust. but i still have the urge to pull away. to hide. to take it all on myself. i don't know if those feelings will ever go away. i feel anxious just writing this. but i know the thoughts won't ever go away, so i want to talk about it. even if i get told the same thing again.
