We need more of this type of resistance. Good-humoured, but it also reveals ridiculousness and bad faith attempts to divide the country with non-issues.

In 2000, the Reform / Canadian Alliance Party said that if a petition got 350K signatures there would be a national vote on an issue. This Hour Has 22 Minutes then went on to got 370K signatures on a petition to force a vote to have party leader Stockwell Day change his name to Doris Day.

I think we’re due for similar shenanigans. Cons are notoriously bad at drafting legislation-I’m sure there are plenty of ways to “Doris Day” this situation.

It’s obvious that she’s both corrupt and incompetent, but that was well-known during the last election. In a time when not even being a convicted of crimes for what you did during your previous tenure in office disqualifies you from re-election, there’s nothing she won’t get away with.
