It is wonderful that your son has this opportunity! My dad and I did this very thing every Christmas growing up in the Ozarks. Forging a connection to the land and outdoors is critical - teaches you respect, responsibility, and independence. Good job!!

If you take the plunge...my amateur advice is to get two hives..it's best to have something to compare. It is an amazing journey and takes commitment. You'll need to see them minimum of 1x week...

Add some white sugar to that mix...maybe a little splash of apple cider vinegar if you have it. They will die happy

Uggghhhhh...hang in there. I always say I must be amusing to the gods because the tryery is strong sometimes. The fruit flies give you a great reason to open a bottle of red...pour a little bit out for them in a shallow dish with a drop or two of dish soap. Don't finish the bottle until later!

The DVD with great pumpkin / Thanksgiving/ Christmas can be had new for about $28 or so....there are some intriguing shows on A TV but I would agree not enough to add another subscription. Happy Thanksgiving!

The best freediver I ever knew smoked like a chimney. I think half of it was to further enrage and shame the rest of us...dude would leave his cig on the motor bracket, come up, drop off his catch, and take a few pulls...then go back down.

I went from Z6 to Z8...I'm purely a hobbyist so it will take me a while to learn it. I am blessed to live in an area that is full of photo opportunities, just need to get out there! What little I've done with the Z8 is amazing.

I'm still not ready to toss Mike out...I think he is passionate about the job but damn the poor judgement of character on some of these recruits. Skill of course but Integrity and grit are sometimes even more important...the rotten apples gotta go
