@nnedi.bsky.social! I found this friend struggling a bit on the ground. She’s missing a bit of her wing. She walked right on to my finger and then flew over to the flowers for a photo shoot. Made me cry a little that she trusted me to help her back up to the sky!

These little marigold plants came in the same little pack but they sure have grown differently! They’re planted just a few feet apart but the first is in an older garden plot and the second is in a raised bed I made this year. I wonder if the soil I got for the raised bed affected the colors?

When we walked up to look at the church, a butterfly landed on my Wife’s hand and stayed there for quite a while as we took pictures and read plaques and signs with her family name on almost every one.
Nobody can convince me that an ancestor didn’t have a hand in that.

I met this little friend on Sunday when the cicadas were still buzzing. Today is Wednesday and it’s sadly quiet in my back yard. I miss them already!
