It makes sense that cues from digestion would be rewarding, but I think I'd like to see experimental evidence that digestion alone is rewarding.
Perhaps some animal researcher could devise a method to deliver rewards while bypassing gustatory signaling? Anesthesia + Gavage perhaps?
