and we're done building! frame from dead trees at my friends' place, slats reclaimed furring strips, headboard is cedar (?) woodscraps tacked together. all i gotta do now is lower my couch table. have not decided on finish... we'll see!
on a dark (fake) hardwood floor in the evening light rests a low-to-the-ground daybed frame, freshly built out of pine. the headboard, facing the camera, are scraps of cedar (?) that have been cut to length and attached together. it looks pretty nice, if i do say so myself! same as previous, except showing the transverse side, with the slats more visible and the (very ugly, yet somehow beautiful) inner side of the headboard. fun devices lurk on a chair nearby.

at the climax of the show, when they change back into their bodies, the performer sit on this major third and then perform a *literal* voice exchange; they glissando (slide) to the others' note while simultaneously changing their timbre back to their "real" voice. that's so sick!!!!

we got this done on stream yesterday! gonna pocket drill some more support screws on the transverse side for safety—i cannot have my fat ass destroy another place to rest. cutting slats, inserts, and topbar today, hoping for completion today (??) or tomorrow.
a pine bedframe with a 12" base height, 20" sidewall, and 28" back (missing a topbar) lies on a shiny hardwood floor.

sometimes i have to wait til late in the day to get enough energy to leave the house—i don't know when it'll come. so it was that my stupid ass rolled up to the woodshop, in the pitch dark and freezing cold, to pull boards from outside and size, plane, and cut down.
a woodshop table on a poured gray concrete floor. there's a table saw, a stop, a yellow measuring tape, and about a dozen lengths of wood in different sizes, mostly 1 7/8" x 3". these are going to constitute the frame for my daybed i'm making because my big ass broke my couch.

conservatives in my area raised a ballot question trying to stop greenfield city council from selling an underused parking lot to housing developers. it was heated! these red signs plastered the yards of homeowners and nimbys—it was a culture war proxy battle, obvi. anyway, the nimbys lost :)

Paid for by the give us back hope st committee. a really fucked up parking lot in the bottom right, a 112-space parking lot. about 375 feet away, past the Hope and Olive restaurant, is a large parking garage. the parking lot sat unused for two years when the temporary fire station was quartered there. GREENFIELD — In Tuesday’s biennial election, Greenfield residents blocked a ballot measure that would have reversed City Council’s July decision to declare the 53 Hope St. parking lot as surplus and sell it to a developer. Residents voted 2,254 to 1,711 to reject Question 1, a measure that Franklin County Register of Probate John Merrigan petitioned to place on the ballot in August. The city can now continue to draft a request for proposals seeking a developer to construct housing or a mixed-use building at the site.

How do you feel about becoming a political lightning rod? People occasionally just flip [me] off or whatever, but nobody's come up to me and tried to make a statement about anything. Personally, it's kind of dumb. It's just a vehicle. So it's ironic that it would even become a political statement, but nonetheless it is.
