Not really. I enjoy planning and editing but dislike drafting, so I use a tool to help get through a tedious part of the process. I also use word processors over typewriters.

The unspoken feeling that the game is somehow creating itself as you go down the various hidden avenues and perform increasingly obscure actions... that there's always another invisible wall somewhere with an entire area behind it

I imagine a lot of similar psychological ground is covered by 'normal' actors. Was probably very weird for Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson, as people, to do 'that' scene in Marriage Story... then again, maybe as pros it doesn't effect them much. Humans are a strange breed

I've used Claude fairly frequently for converting scene notes into a first draft, and found it quite useful. I don't see the value in making myself do things I find hard and unenjoyable when there's an alternative

The silver lining is they obviously realise this, hence the Sekiro tear in the DLC. Just a shame they couldn't incorporate it more fully, but sometimes bandaids are the only option you have.

I mention Sekiro specifically because they've stated that its concurrent development with Elden Ring meant they couldn't use the lessons learned from it in ER. Which is unfortunate, as it would've made things like Consort way more manageable.

It feels like Fromsoft pushing the basic mechanics of souls combat to their breaking point. I'll be really surprised if their next title doesn't incorporate at least some mechanics from Sekiro which let them raise the skill ceiling... otherwise things will be untenable

Having a ranged option makes the game sooooo much easier. It lets you completely defuse a lot of encounters. It's why I always stock up on throwing knives on otherwise pure melee characters.

lots of aesthetic works can be great without reference to their medium-specific features. it's neat when works do this but it's not necessary
