As a bankruptcy trustee I sometimes get these checks on older cases. I have never had an issue with the checks (of course my accounts have some extra protections and we hold the funds for 60 days to be safe.)
Usually these refunds are the result of a CFPB investigation or action

Agreed. Although only OK to add the bag to your neighbors bin 1.) on trash day and 2.) before the trash is picked up IMO. But what is wrong with those that don’t pick up?
