So these beauties were reduced to 4p each. Time to make some soup for the freezer! So 16p for the broccoli, £2.99 for the stilton and lets say 60p for the stock, I grew the onions and potatoes, I made 11 portions, so 34p a serving and it tastes amazing, stalks, cheese rind, everything used!

It is a pure pleasure to go outside and dig up something for dinner, makes all the hard work worth it. Even if it's just a parsley plant on a windowsill, try growing your own food, it's a revolution on a tiny scale.

Last winter, after I spent an hour mucking out their stables, filling it full of fluffy straw and hay that smells of summer, they do this. Basically they're ungrateful a-holes! (They absolutely do not need rugs, they're natives and have amazing coats that keep them super warm in the winter).
