FYI: I have arthritis all over both feet, the connective tissues that are supposed to be elastic have lost all elasticity, & I have 5 visible bone spurs on each foot. I wear custom AFOs that are basically feet exoskeletons.

There is just something special about a James Ponti book. I loved the second book of The Sherlock Society even more than the first book, and I LOVED book one. Spending time with these kids again was so much fun, and the grandfather is one of the coolest adults you will ever meet in a children’s book

Life update:
🔸I was forced to start an alternative certification program in order to keep the job I’ve had for 20 years, so I’m back to taking classes at 52 yo
🔸kid 1 is moving back home & taking a year to regroup/save $
🔸kid 2 graduated & is moving out & into the work world later this month

Life update:

Pssst… I’m not indoctrinating your child to think about much in my classroom- I can’t even get them to read a book for pleasure nor bring paper and pencil to class. They’re learning all that other stuff you’re worried about in some other place. 📱🤳💻🎮

#Detroit #Southfield tmw, I have to be at a place called Crossroads in Southfield. Apple Maps shows a smooth drive from I94 to 696 from the east side. What is REALLY happening, construction/traffic-wise? Is it a nightmare? #MDOT traffic map shows some trouble spots but is it really that bad?

My kiddo has to take her State certification test later this month, starting at 8:30 am. Since it’s a massive drive & she has to be test-ready that early, can you recommend a SAFE hotel that’s not too expensive that’s close to Northland Center Mall in Southfield? This is where she has to test:

First overnight trip with the hubby (without kids) since 2012 is happening tonight. Look out Saganing Eagles Landing… here we come😂😂😂😂. This empty nest thing is disconcerting. (We do not miss the irony of the name of the place and this empty nest idea.)

#MiddleSchoolELA teachers- if you’ve had success getting these 4 things in your 50-minute class period regularly, what is your “minute by minute”schedule? 1) writing (informal/practice), 2) choice reading, 3) required curricular content, 4) grammar/mechanics instruction.

Went to Texas Roadhouse yesterday & were quickly reminded why we don’t like that place. Why do they shoehorn all the diners together? I cannot tell you how many times the wait staff had their armpits in people’s faces due to reaching, and I don’t want the hair of the lady behind me to touch me!

I have a middle school student who hasn’t been to school since April 24. Sent out a 🚓 on a welfare check. Kid can’t get up for the bus because they’re up all night & parents have no transportation 🤷🏻♀️.
That’s my fault, I guess.
