I feel super self-conscious about sharing this weekend’s painting, but I am also working hard to overcome crippling perfectionism. I am calling this one "Freedom" because finishing it and sharing it as it is feels like a step toward that.

Im heartbroken that the my kids much loved father died suddenly and inexplicably yesterday. The world will never be the same for us without our anchor and best friend. This is the hardest thing I can imagine.

Getting ready to embark on a 9 hour transit journey home from Christmas at my family’s where I spent four days sick as a dog.
My mom loans me a duffel bag to help me cart my stuff for all the transfers. Found my dad’s ashes in the bag.
