While essentially parked on the 405 freeway, I was riveted, and that day I became a donor to my local station.

I began listening to NPR in 2004, when I had a 19 mile commute that took 2 hours (I do not miss this part of you, SoCal!) I distinctly remember one “All Things Considered” segment about rabies, and how a doctor saved a girl by putting her in a medically-induced coma to protect her brain.
