I have had convos where people argued that it’s okay to pay for NFL teams since they’ll bring a billion dollars worth of revenue to the state. Whereas, schools, roads and transit don’t make money for the state so why should those be paid for.
It makes my head hurt when I talk to those people.

I hear Dirk is scared of a life outside of politics after he terms out. So I imagine his full throated support of this grotesque gerrymandering effort is to increase his chances of finding a cushy job. So in essence, he took away representation from Kansas City to increase his job prospects. SMH.

I blame this on a lack of media literacy in this country. Without a base knowledge to parse news/stories shared on social media, all one can do is react. So, we now get Measles outbreaks, ICE deportations and takeovers of our largest cities with so much more to come.

True. It feels like the dem consultants hate the Dem base and do everything in their power to ignore and keep them quiet whereas the Republicans fear their base and do everything to keep their base focused on anything besides them.

I can’t help but think of the saying from when Missouri was considered a bellwether state: “so goes Missouri, so goes the nation.” Everything the Republican supermajority has been doing at the state level for the past 10+ years has been a dress rehearsal for the Republicans on the national stage.

It’s not older, but damn is it cozy: The Blue Prince. Just making rooms and finding clues. It’s been my go to since it came out in April because there’s just so many mysterious layers to it.
