It’d just be so much safer for folks too rather than getting spat out on main roads when adequate infrastructure is within sight with no way to get between without a u-turn or dismounting.

tbf this shows how ridiculous parking cars on the road is too but in that scenario we paint lines and set up spaces for them to impede traffic.
