Thanks for being vocal about this. Keep up the great work senator. Here's the tail end of letter I sent to my senator and representatives today. I hope it helps.
Despite Daniel’s hardships, so far, he is one of the lucky ones – he’s been the beneficiary of lifesaving, grant-funded programs for veterans in Washington State that have recently helped him with his rent, and other vital grant programs helped him figure out establishing SNAP benefits, and medical care. They’ve also provided other essential services like job fairs which have helped my brother connect with potential employers, though nothing has come through yet. Fortunately, my brother has this community connection though, which most of all provides hope. And yet, every day has been a struggle for my brother, and this is WITH all the support the essential non-profits have provided. What will my brother do in February if all of these supports are suddenly yanked from under his feet? And what will the thousands upon thousands of other veterans and citizens in our country do too who are just like him, when they too have no help, and perhaps not even a food bank nearby with open doors to welcome them? Please senator, please do what you can to help my brother Daniel. And to help the students I work with daily who need information and assurances that their funding won’t be cut. I trust you won’t let Trump get away with this dissolution of democracy – that you will stand up to his unlawful ways and assert and preserve the essential separation of branches within our government to ensure that the money that’s already been appropriated by Congress gets spent as it was intended. Thank you, Senator, for all your future efforts to stop Trump’s devastating plan.
