I am still confused as to why Microsoft thought charging for self-hosted runners wouldn't result in uproar. Were they just trying their luck? Are they hurting from all the AI "investment"? Need to pad that ROI?

TIL that Bun has joined Anthropic. I have mixed feelings. I'm glad to see support, but the gobbling up of open source is concerning.

The International Criminal Court is ditching Microsoft Office, saying it’s too dependent on US tech, in favor of Open Desk, a German open source alternative.

The move comes after Microsoft revoked ICC head Karim Khan’s email access when he was sanctioned by the US for the warrant against Netanyahu.

So I am considering reading "Gender Trouble" by Judith Butler. Why? Well, a certain FunkyFrog said "Hey philosophy majors ... stop casually recommending this sh**, you psychopaths!" and though I'm not a philosophy major ... challenge accepted?

I know this may sound weird, but ... I miss doing math. So I'm going to use ClaudeAI to generate daily math problems. Let's hope it doesn't hallucinate unsolvable equations. It must be able to do that without issue right? It has to be good at being a graphing calculator

Very important that we start doing the work to understand the impactsand risks of sustaining large AI compute demands and mitigate them before doing irreparable harm
Very cool to see this work by @renshaolei.bsky.social and others estimating AI’s public health costs from the air pollution associated with data center power consumption and backup generators

AI’s impacts go beyond carbon, energy, and water costs

A lot of strife in #SouthKorea #politics right now.

Of all things, why martial law?

There had to have been a way to broach whatever concerns he had and not startle allies and ruffle people's fears of military dictatorship.

I'm questioning his motives hard core
