The White Sox have had a ticket rep ask me about season tickets almost every day since the World Series ended.

Why should I spend money on tickets when the front office won't spend on the roster?

Free agents can be part of the long-term core.

“Free agency is an avenue to bring in players to help in the win total,” Getz said. “But to go beyond this upcoming season I think would be a little premature considering the state of our club right now and the development of these young players. “More than anything we want to strengthen our coaching staff, improve our processes within the front office and go out there and try to win as many games as we can next year. That’s something we can control, and then in the future years, when we are approaching that ’27 season, we’ll adjust and put together the best club for the future that we can after the ’26 season.”

But after a while of doing it, I always think the fine line that you walk, when you’re writing gags, you know, is over-explaining it. If you over-explain it, you ruin it. If you under-explain it, then people are confused, and they don’t know what to do. And after doing it for a number of years, that’s the thing that I’m always concerned about: the amount of explaining and over-explaining, and I think I’ve decided on the under-explaining.

One of these days I'll work on assembly and photographing instead of just getting the method and ingredients right. Today is not that day.
Dandelion leaves, julienned apple, roasted red beet, baked shallots tossed in a poblano vinaigrette with poblano puree and chopped pistachios. The original, with white beets. It's not very photogenic either.
