Personally, life has been lifing the last few months. I'm just grateful to be a part of a wonderful #pottery studio that took care of my pieces while I was figuring everything out.

Four test vases for a new project combining clay, text/emotion, and landscapes. I'm still working out my process for including text. But I think I like imperfect inlay. Next is a bisque fire and maybe another layer of underglaze or dip glaze. Or both #experiments

Went to the studio and discovered most of my underglaze dried out 🤦🏾‍♂️. Had just enough to paint and start sgraffito designs on some vases. Lesson: check your underglaze.

Yesterday was all about trimming. Three of seven new pieces ready to glaze. The first two were hard to trim with loop tools. We survived 😅.

I found an old brush roll that worked perfectly for my carving tools and, of course, brushes. The rest of my shelf is a mess 🫣.

Make promises to yourself and keep them. Might take a minute, but stay persistent and listen to what you need.

I have so much mixed reclaim to get through, but I love obsidian clay. Hate the mess. Love how soft and bold it can be. Decisions. Decisions. Should I use the reclaim or get a bag of obsidian 🫠? That is the question.

My moto, be a snail, has helped me slow down and enjoy the days I can barely eke out time to create. 15 minutes of painting is a gift 🍃.
