People aren’t taught to think about scenarios as a whole. They’re taught to view one point at a time and when two point oppose they’re taught there is no way to reconcile them. It’s sad honestly

We live in a time where being apolitical is no longer an acceptable stance. Everything, unfortunately, is political. More so, it is a moral issue. Remember from MLK:

It’s time to take a stand and defend ourselves. Peaceful protest only works when the government has compassion and answers to the people. That clearly is not the case today. It will be chaotic. It will be hard. But a stand has to be made or they’ll continue to walk over us all

Which is also why the founders (especially Washington) explicitly stated to avoid a 2 party system as one party then will outweigh the other and cause issues with checks and balances because they are allied with a single party, not the nation as a whole

The constitution was literally designed for this exact reason. The authors saw authoritarianism and wrote this document (imperfect as it was/is) to give as many safeguards as possible to the American people. However, it requires the other branches to work together to stop whichever one is wrong

This admin only knows how to lie and gaslight. Even if they felt the slightest compassion and regret for what’s happening, they’ll never have the courage to admit they’re wrong and walk things back. They only double down and say we’re crazy

I truly believe communities facing the ICE invasions need to start engaging in armed community watches. I cannot state enough that nobody should actively seek violence, but everyone should be prepared for if/when violence is brought upon them as we all have a right to protect ourselves

It’d be nice if the checks and balances actually were implemented to stop this like they were meant to, but the GOP would have to take papa trumps c*ck out of their mouths to vote and they can’t have that now can they?

You pretty much nailed it! Centrists don’t want the uncomfy feelings that come with opening their eyes to what is happening, so they keep em closed and hope. If only there was a way for them to actually make a change, like idk, opening their eyes and actually doing something for once 🤪
