I'm here for science posts, literature posts and posts where porn stars share their favourite dessert recipes. Born in the USA but proudly Canadian. Elbows Up!
Who's Minding the Mint (1967) starring Jim Hutton, Dorothy Provine and more b-line comedians than an episode of Love Boat. This is one of those movies that I saw as a kid and has stuck in my imagination ever since.

My brother gielbondhu.bluesky.social, paints these amazing lightswitch plates. I don't have a style of switch that this would fit, but it sure looks snazzy just hanging on the wall.

Way back in 1988, before the existential threat AI represents to actual art, we were allowed to marvel (pun intended) over what computer generated art could be. It's perfect that this stars a character like Iron Man, who would come to represent not a metal-suited hero but a flawed cyber capitalist.

When people talk about The 7 Faces of Dr Lao (1964), they're often quick to point out that Tony Randall does yellowface but they never seem to notice he also does drag.

The world is feeling particularly shitty this week, so let's take a breath and start Halloween celebrating early. Here's Frankenstein from Dell Comics. (On my mind b/c I watched Son of Frankenstein on the Universal Monsters stream on Roku this morning).

I had my reservations going into this novel (knowing what I know about some of Tingle's work) but boy was this an enjoyable read. 100% worth it.

Really, AppleTV and Prime should be paying us $5 to watch Superman IV.

More classic fat hate from DC. This time, fat Lois!

(Also, a case of Superman acting like a real asshole, which was common for him in the 50s.)
